Overview
BugSnap is a browser extension that helps users capture bug reports with technical context. This policy describes what data BugSnap accesses and how it is handled.
Data Collected
When a user initiates a bug capture, BugSnap collects:
- A screenshot of the visible browser tab
- The current page URL and title
- Browser and OS information
- Viewport dimensions
- Console errors
- Failed network requests
How Data Is Stored
All data is stored locally on the user's device using Chrome's local storage API. Data is overwritten each time a new capture is initiated. No data is stored persistently beyond the active session.
Data Sharing
BugSnap does not transmit any data to external servers. No data is sold, shared, or transferred to third parties. All data remains entirely on the user's device until the user chooses to copy and paste it into their own tools.
No Accounts or Tracking
BugSnap does not require an account, does not use analytics, and does not track user behavior.
